God is Working

Growing up can be challenging.

Remember what it was like when you were in elementary school? Your friends, your favorite teacher, your favorite subject?

It wasn't always pleasant because you had your first disappointment, your first failed attempt, or your first realization of a limitation.

Growing older can be just as challenging. Instead of the one being served and told what to do, you become the one responsible for serving others and giving them instructions so that they will know what to do. You realize the frustrations your parents may have had or your teachers or your coach.

That's like spiritual growth. We learn our limitations by our failures. We learn the size of our faith by the size of the trial that crushes us.

We are reminded daily, it seems, that we are not in charge of as many things as we thought and God is at work behind the scenes in ways that we can only imagine. But don't forget that last part, God is at work.
