UnforgettableThis is the season of giving. Most of our gifts won't be long remembered because they just don't last that long. We wanted them at the time - and then we received them.
Remember how happy we were? What a time! Then, over time, they either wore out, rusted out, broke in half, or went out of style. For whatever reason, we can barely remember them. Maybe that could be a good way of determining the best gift that you could ever receive. Perhaps its the one gift that would hold your interest - never wear out - and always be appreciated. The best gift you can get or give is the gift of helping someone build a spiritual relationship with God. Unfortunately, the gift may not be appreciated at the time. There will be no gratitude expressed. But later, rather than sooner, the gift starts to accrue value. And then, finally appreciation. The Bible describes Heaven as a spiritual inheritance. The apostle Peter says it is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. (Another man said it is faultless, flawless, and fadeless.) Regardless, it is a free gift to the faithful. Anything that helps us discover who God is - and how we can come to know him - is the best gift you can give - or get. Unforgettable.
