GraceLand Sweets With Santa

Shared Blessings
Shared Blessings is when we will gather at the Midtown church of Christ building on Union Avenue to assemble boxes of groceries for Thanksgiving meals for at least 200 families. Each year, Midtown and the Raleigh Springs church of Christ receive calls from families who are in need. We will be collecting money this year, the exact price of which has yet to be determined. Each box has food for eight family members. The cost has usually been around $25 each. We will have a devotional together after all the boxes are assembled.
Guest Speaker: Kirk Brothers
Kirk Brothers, President of Heritage Christian University and preacher of the gospel will be with us for our one day meeting. Kirk will be speaking at all of our services, including the adult Bible Classes, which will meet in the auditorium on this day. The theme for the day is “Come to the Mountain.” He will be speaking of the ‘Mountains of the Messiah’ in which Jesus speaks powerful lessons from various mountains. These will include the Mount of Temptation, the Mount of Transfiguration, and the Calvary Mountain.
Family Festi-Fall
This is a free community event held at our building, so be sure to invite your friends. We will have a trunk-or-treat, food, candy, inflatables, face painting, hayrides, and games.
Area Wide Worship
Our second “Journey of Faith” area wide worship service is scheduled for Sunday evening, October 5 at our building. Our speakers are Raphael Hubbard, who lives in Olive Branch, but preaches at the Coldwater, MS church of Christ, and Dana Baldwin, who preaches at the Park Avenue church of Christ. Our song leaders will be James Currie from the Midtown church of Christ and Howard Howell from the Millington church of Christ. We again plan to begin at 5:00 pm and end at 6:15 pm, with refreshments (cookies, coffee and tea) in the fellowship hall.
Men's Retreat
Our speaker this year is Andrew Phillips, minister at the Graymere Church of Christ. The topic is “Life Stories.” It will begin with dinner at 6:00 pm on Friday with sessions starting at 7:00 pm. It will continue on Saturday with breakfast at 8:00 am and sessions running from 9:00-11:30 and ending with lunch. The cost will be $40.00 for both Friday and Saturday (or overnight) and $20.00 for either Friday or Saturday only.
Church Picnic
Join us at the Patterson’s for our annual congregational picnic. The event starts at 4:00 with fishing, a petting zoo, and train rides. The meal will begin around 5:30. It is a catered meal and there is no cost. There will also be a hayride later following the meal. Members need to sign up in the Adult Bible Class or in the south hallway. While there is no cost, we need to know how many will be attending so there will be plenty of food.
Marriage Retreat
Join us September 12-14, 2025 at The Country Place in Moscow, Tennessee. Our guest speaker is Keith Fussell from the Christian Counseling Center of Bartlett and Oliver Creek Church of Christ. The cost is $200 per couple and covers a 2-night stay, all meals and activities. The registration deadline is September 8.
Ukraine Food Distribution Report
Sponsored by Sunset International Bible Institute, we are invited to hear of the distribution of food taking place during war times in Ukraine and all across Europe. We’ll hear about how 7000 people are being fed every single day. Brandon Price, the Director of the Ukrainian Bible Institute will be speaking, as well as Natasha Maluga on how she is coordinating the efforts of all the groups making contributions and all the workers directing the resources to the places in most need.
Gospel Meeting
Lovell Hays, from the East Jackson Church of Christ in Jackson, TN will be speaking at all of our services, including the morning teen and adult Bible class. Brother Hays spoke at a recent ‘Journey of Faith’ area wide service, and we arranged for him to come back to speak. All are invited.

Lads to Leaders Recognition Night
During our evening service we will take time to recognize all of our Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes participants. We will have a finger food fellowship afterwards.
WINGS Ministry Ladies' Retreat
All women are invited to participate in an overnight Ladies’ Retreat at The Country Place in Moscow, TN. Our theme this year is “The Time Is Now” and our guest speakers are Lois Webster and Bree Neighbors from the Sisters Podcast. Ladies of all ages are welcome to attend.
Lads to Leaders Convention
Several of our families will be in Nashville, TN for the annual Lads to Leaders convention.
Lads to Leaders Pre-Convention Meeting
Those planning to attend this year’s Lads to Leaders convention will meet at the front of the auditorium on the right-hand side following our evening service. At least one adult from each family will need to attend. We will go over new schedules, new items for the hotel, and new items for this year’s convention.
Lads to Leaders Youth-Led Worship
In preparation for this year’s Lads to Leaders convention, our young men will lead our evening worship services.
Easter Egg Hunt
This event is free and open to the entire community. Join us on our field at the back of the church building. We will have donuts, pictures with the Easter Bunny, egg decorating, balloon animals, face painting, golden egg prizes...and more!!

Area Wide Worship
Let’s worship with God’s people in Memphis. Our theme is “Our Journey of Faith.” Note that worship will begin at 5PM with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall
Young at Heart Banquet
Germantown members 65 years and older are encouraged to join us for our annual Young at Heart Banquet. This year’s theme is “Return to Mayberry.” Sign up in the South Hallway or in your adult Bible class by February 5th.
Elders' Breakfast
Please join your elders on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. as they serve breakfast and inform the congregation of the upcoming plans for 2025. All members are encouraged to attend. The breakfast is FREE. Sign up sheets are available in the Adult Bible Classes and on the credenza in the south hallway. The absolute last day to sign up is Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Holiday Dinner
This year’s congregational Holiday Dinner will be in the church Fellowship Hall at 6PM on December 2, 2024. There will be a catered meal, entertainment, a Santa appearance, and a few more surprises. Adults: $20; Kids 13 and under: $10; Kids under 3 eat free. Please register by December 1.
Shared Blessings
We will meet at the Midtown Church of Christ at 9am to help box up 150 meals for 150 families. The food has already been provided. We just need volunteers.
Trunk or Treat
This is a free community event, so be sure to invite your friends. We will have food, candy, inflatables, face painting, hayrides, and a haunted bus. Church members, we need you to get involved by decorating your cars, handing out candy, and providing cakes for our cake walk.
Men's Retreat
Our speaker this year is Tim Wooldridge, Vice President of Crowley’s Ridge College. The topic will be “Real Men of God.” It will begin with dinner at 6:00 pm on Friday, September 27 with sessions starting at 7:00 pm. It will continue on Saturday, September 28 with breakfast at 8:00 am and sessions running from 9:00-11:30 and ending with lunch. The cost will be $40.00 for both Friday and Saturday (or overnight) and $20.00 for either Friday or Saturday only.
