Family Talk
By Dave Phillips
Today promises to be a ‘red letter day.’ I understand that term to mean ‘a day you won’t want to forget.’ Here is why I think it will be a great day…
God’s people will assemble to worship together.
We will open the Bible in our classes to learn together.
We will discuss the importance of baptism (past & future).
We will launch our Vacation Bible School.
Parents and children will have 4 evenings of learning together.
We will have a period of events (during VBS) intended to encourage our children to learn God’s will in unique ways.
It will be a time when we will sing, pray and grow spiritually.
Older Christians will have a time to encourage younger children.
Younger children and Christians will have a time to give hope to older Christians.
VBS - a ‘once a year’ experience that won’t be repeated this year.
This will be your 2026 VBS memory for the future.
Harold Redd, after being introduced by our ‘visitor from the east,’ I suppose Collierville is considered to be the ‘east,’ launched our efforts in a tremendous way. He motivated us to love - an old command that needs to be renewed each day. This week we’ll have Keith Fussell leading our adults in a discussion of family matters and then, Justin Rogers will be with us on Wednesday night. This is a great summer, isn’t it?
