Family Talk

The crisp mornings, the warm - but not oppressively hot - afternoons make for one of the most pleasant times of the year. The clocks are being set back for Daylight Savings Time, so like it or not, change is in the air. Our Trunk-and-Treat was a huge success - largely due to the organization and promotion of Lori Duncan and a host of helpers. The day ended on a great note when we all came in to the auditorium for our evening worship assembly. Delightful weather, friendly and happy ‘costumed’ participants and God’s people gathered for an evening service topped off a perfect day. Thank you to all who made it a success.
It is fitting, considering all the blessings we are counting, to consider our theme for the month of November, which is, Gratitude that Never Diminishes. As we enter the month that culminates in Thanksgiving, it seems like a good time to think of all that is good which we enjoy each day. At the top of the list, of course, is the ability God has given each of us to be in His kingdom. I might suggest a practice that would achieve two objectives. This might be the best time of the year to be making a list - and checking it twice - of all the blessings that you have received in life. This will be an extensive list, but I do believe it would be a worthwhile task that would result in a greater appreciation for what God has given us everyday. First, of all, of course, there is the spiritual blessings available through Jesus Christ. God has certainly richly blessed this church over the years. Our gratitude, if not already expressed, is overdue. In your prayers, please continue to pray for the Joseph Horton family as they make their move. They will be a blessing to this church.
