We have a great month planned for us to work, study, pray and worship together. I know you have your daily activities that allow you to ‘touch the lives’ of friends and neighbors. We also have the privilege of doing some work together as a congregation. These frequently involve working with other congregations in united efforts.

We are blessed at Germantown in many, many ways. Oh, I know the physical facility is a blessing, but far greater is our relationship together in the Lord. Thank you, Lord! There are many upcoming dates that you’ll need to mark down on your calendar. You won’t want to miss a single one!

It is so good to be able to worship God together! We have had good opportunities to be together. Already this year, we have experienced baptisms, recommitments in life, those identifying as part of the church family here - and a full morning where we have heard of the plans for 2024.

We are now into February and what a privilege it is to be serving together as we work at Germantown! So many questions come to mind. What does God have in store for us as we work and worship together? How are we going to ‘pitch in’ with others as we look at our combined work together as introduced by our elders at the Elder’s Breakfast?

By the time you read this, our Elder’s Breakfast will be an historical event. But far more than just something occurring, it represents a time of praying, planning and preparing a way that we might, as a congregation, unite our efforts to achieve specific goals for 2024. Here are some individual ways you can help join us as we seek to serve God together here…

Love God. Love others. I suppose you can’t be much more simple than that. I know Jesus was repeating and embellishing on the commands given to the Jews in the Old Testament when He gave the greatest (foremost) command (as He called it in Mark 12).

What a BLESSING to awake to new opportunities each day to LOVE GOD and LOVE OTHERS! Dave reminded us last week as we begin a NEW YEAR that we all have choices and decisions to make daily.

Welcome to 2024! I am so glad that we are able to experience this together! The life of the church is certainly fascinating, isn’t it? It is not only unpredictable, it is a constant source of revelation about the nature of God and the nature of man.
