We’ve been planning for this since last year. Our speaker was a part of the Area-Wide Service (Our Journey of Faith) last year, but that didn’t allow for enough time for him to complete his message to us. Lovell was asked to come back for a one day meeting - and today is the day! Our focus is on the ‘gospel’ which we believe.

There are numerous upcoming activities that are occupying our time, but one that should not go unnoticed or unmentioned is the prayer that we had for our students, teachers, and administrators last Sunday morning at both of our morning services.

The farewell to our summer interns was excellent. Jacob Hill did an excellent job speaking on Sunday night. He gave unique insights on the summer work with our young people and JP orchestrated an outstanding farewell dinner and report from Becky, Reagan and Jacob on their impressions of the learning process.

What a great Summer Series it has been. I find myself in the position of so many of you, saying, “I remember when…”

Our Vacation Bible School was a tremendous success - for both children and adults. I’m glad that we had an adult class because we have so many opportunities to pause and consider the text of the Bible - along with its implications. This was a wonderful study.

You’ll see the decorations for Vacation Bible School today at the front of the auditorium. Believe me, that is only a portion of the effort that has been put into this year’s VBS.

Ann and I made it safely back from visiting Alfred and Diana Zike in Athens, Greece and enjoyed being a part of the 7th Annual Mediterranean Christian Conference. It was held in Marathon, Greece and was another opportunity to visit with and learn from missionaries around the world.
