SERVE Memphis is a service program designed to impact our community in a positive way for the Lord!  SERVE is an acronym that stands for Share your gifts, Empower people, Reach outward, Value life, & Enhance the community.  Anyone is welcome to participate in SERVE Memphis.  If you would like to assist in any way (by volunteering time, by donating items or money) please call the church office at 901-754-1668..

On September 7, we had our first SERVE Memphis project of feeding the homeless and less fortunate in Memphis.  Our members donated sandwiches, chips, fruit, cookies & bottled water and we were able to organize and distribute 300 meals. During the fall of 2013, we completed several other projects in an attempt to make a difference in our community and instill a desire to live a life of service in all those who participated.

On October 26, we made 111 backpack survival kits with small blankets, hygiene products, non-perishable foods, socks and bottles of water and gave them to the homeless in downtown Memphis.

On November 23rd, we joined with other members at Germantown church of Christ as well as members at Midtown and Raleigh Springs church of Christ and participated in "Shared Blessings" a projects to give away the food needed to prepare a full Thanksgiving meal, including turkeys, sweet potatoes, turnips, stuffing, rolls for a family of eight.  Two hundred and fifty family were given these meals.  It was a joy to work with these other congregations in this great work.

On December 21, we began the day by giving out old fashioned stockings full of fruit, thermal socks, gloves, nuts, candy and an encouraging verse and message to two hundred homeless individuals in Memphis.  We then had an event called "The Family Gift" where each one of our teens brought money and we collectively bought Christmas presents for a family in need from one of the local congregations.  It was an amazing day!

Upcoming Events:

This spring we will continue to try to reach out to the Memphis and Shelby County community.  We are in the process of planning events to help with Agape, Ronald McDonald House, raking leaves and yard work for our elderly, and the homeless of Memphis. As more details are available, they will be added.  SERVE projects are scheduled on the following dates.

January 25 @ 10:30AM - Agape Memphis Families in Transition - We will be helping Agape assemble furniture, clean, and prepare apartments for new families to move into them.

February 22 @ 12:30PM - With this project, we are being reminded that there are many of our members that need help around their houses and yards.  We will be raking leaves, trimming bushes, cleaning gutters, etc.  It will be a great time of fellowship as we help our older members do things that they aren't able to do anymore themselves.

March 8 - @ 10:00 AM

April 12 - @ 9:00 AM
