Shout for Joy

Have you ever wanted to shout for joy so desperately that you wished you could literally just shout out loud!? Oh, more than for a football or basketball team. A genuine heart-felt shout that reaches to the very depths of your being?

There is a story in the Bible of 72 men who were given temporary divine power by God – including power over demons. They did exactly what Jesus said and experienced tremendous success. They all gathered back and reported to Jesus, rejoicing over the fact that even demons were subject to their will. Jesus rejoiced too, but then said something very memorable. He said, “Don’t rejoice over the power you have. Rejoice in that your names are recorded in Heaven” (Luke 10:20)

Think of it: the one who knows all things said that above all make sure you are ready to go be with the Lord.  Now, that’s a reason to rejoice, from the very depths of your soul.
