We Will Be Accepted
Isn’t it amazing how some of the most successful people in the world can be so self-critical?
Business men,
actors,
politicians,
workers
They are often filled with self-doubt that they feel a great need to achieve in order to be accepted.
On the other hand, we all know highly paid athletes who appear to be self-promoting and hyper-critical of their fellow teammates that we all wonder if they, too, are not “acting out” to hide their insecurities.
Everyone wants to be accepted. One individual in the Bible that had every reason to be insecure, but was not, was the apostle Peter. You’ll remember Peter, the man that denied that he knew Jesus as the Messiah three times in the same evening. When he realized what he had done, he wept bitterly, and came back to Christ. Peter would write some of the most encouraging letters in the Bible, including the promise of a reward that will not fade away. We will be accepted.
