God’s Friend
Does it seem to you like everyone constantly complains? You’re not alone.
There is a story about a man whom God wanted to be a great leader for His people. He was working providentially throughout his life, from the days of his infancy to the days when he was an old man. He turned out to be a remarkable, successful leader. But one of the constant annoyances in his life was the complaining people that surrounded him. In spite of it all, he was faithful to God – not perfect – but faithful.
We know him as Moses – the Bible calls him the friend of God. Perhaps Moses and God had this common struggle, leading an obstinate people and listening to their complaints. But God is faithful and loving, and when we come to Him on His terms, he hears and answers our prayers. The next time you hear someone complain think of Moses, then of God, then smile – and be God’s friend.
