Family Talk
By Dave Phillips
Wasn’t it exciting to hear JP Wamble highlight the baptism of two of our teens the past 2 weeks? We are so proud of Aiden Kearse and Arleigh Petrowski. In addition to the two baptisms, I was so glad that Turner Holmes helped me during the Sunday morning sermon, demonstrate what really takes place in a baptism. The part I loved the most was when I said, “I usually say something like, Turner, do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God?” I really did not anticipate his responding because I was trying to inform the congregation of what normally happens. That didn’t stop Turner. He looked at me and said, “Yes sir, I do!” It caught me off guard, but it was a moment I won’t soon forget. I pray that his demonstration of daily confession whenever asked remains a part of his life until the Lord comes again. Thank you, Turner!
This is certainly a beautiful time of year. With so many of our members enjoying spring breaks with their families, our numbers reflect the same in our assemblies. But, isn’t it good to be able to spend valuable time ‘breaking the routine’ and being able to spend time and effort doing the activities that families enjoy? I love springtime!
Our ministries continue to work at all times of the year. In fact, at tonight’s service, before the sermon begins, we will have Charles David Fewell give a report on the work taking place with World Bible School within the members of this congregation. He has been around to most of our classes, sharing information and recruiting volunteers to help share the good news of Jesus Christ through the use of World Bible School. You’ll want to know what has been taking place since the last time he gave his report.
Have you marked your calendars? March 28 will be our Easter Egg Hunt. April 19 is our Journey of Faith area- wide worship service. VBS is June 14-18. See you soon!
