Gospel Meeting - November 16
Sunday, November 16, will be a big day for us. Kirk Brothers, President of Heritage Christian University and preacher of the gospel will be with us for our one day meeting. Kirk will be speaking at all of our services, both the early and the late morning services on that day, including the adult Bible Classes, which will meet in the auditorium. The theme for the day is “Come to the Mountain with the Messiah.”
Sunday AM - Mount of Temptation
Bible class - Mount of Transfiguration
Sunday Evening - Mount Calvary
What a great way to conclude our study of the gospel of John. I’m already excited about this day! I hope you are, too! Please invite a friend to come worship with us. We’d love to meet them. Who knows? Let’s focus on lessons from Jesus.
Shared Blessings
Shared Blessings is still on! Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 22, because this is when we will gather at the Midtown church of Christ building on Union Avenue to assemble boxes of groceries for Thanksgiving meals for at least 200 families. Each year, Midtown and the Raleigh Springs church of Christ receive calls from families who are in need. Two updates are necessary. This year, we are going to be keeping in touch with the number of requests very closely. Several factors come into play, but Stacey Day has been handling the ordering and delivery of food items to the Midtown church, where we all meet and place food items in boxes for distribution. Members of the Midtown church and Raleigh Springs church distribute the food and offer an extended invitation to a Bible study at the their building. This has been very effective. I am planning to join some of these studies after the new year. We will be collecting money this year, the exact price of which has yet to be determined. Each box has food for eight family members. The cost has usually been around $25 each. That’s a good starting place. Thanks for your involvement. More information to come.
