God Hates This

Have you ever thought about making a list of all the things you hate? That’s odd, isn’t it? We usually make a list of things we like, or things we’d like to do, or things we need to accomplish.

But in the book of Proverbs, the wise man lists seven things that God hates.  It’s worth reading. He hates:

• haughty eyes,

• a lying tongue,

• hands that kill the innocent,

• a heart that plots evil,

• feet that race to do wrong,

• a false witness who pours out lies,

• and a person who sows discord among brothers.

 What a list!  None of those attributes are desirable.

Yet, all of those things God hates begin with an attitude – a haughty look. He mentions several body parts that cause problems – eyes, tongue, hands, heart and feet. But the one that causes these problems is our mind – our mind that is proud – or haughty.

The next time you look in a mirror and start thinking how fortunate the world is to have you around – think of God – and smile
