How Can He Do That?
You know, when you think about it, prayer is one the most underrated and least appreciated activities in a person’s life. An unbeliever, at least a charitable one, would say that prayer is just so much self-talk; an audible means of working through problems.
But, if you believe the Bible, prayer is a means of directing your thoughts – thoughts of concern, or compliments, or questions, to the creator of all mankind. And somehow, in the midst of involvement of all the universe, this creator God hears your prayer. In fact, He has the ability to hear all of our thoughts and prayers simultaneously and responding individually.
You say, “How can he do that?”
Well the Old Testament prophet Isaiah quotes God as saying “My thoughts are not your thoughts. My ways are not your ways.” It’s a gentle reminder that He is God – and we are His creation.
By the way – it’s one thing to pray to your creator – it’s another thing to pray to your Father. The Bible helps us see the difference.
