I Don’t Know What I Believe

I don’t know what I believe. I don’t know what I’m supposed to believe.

• Is there a God?

• Did someone just make this whole story up? 

• Who really knows there is a God?

Good question.  One psalm in the Bible says that “the fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” The Bible tells the story of Job who looks around and sees all these seemingly secure men say confidently, “There is no God.” Job says, and it’s almost as if you can hear him whisper, “Ask the beasts, and let them teach you; and the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you. Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you; and let the fish of the sea declare to you. Who among all  these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, in whose hand is the life of every living thing?” 

Just a story?  More than a story.  It’s a journey of faith.
