The Best Way to Teach Our Children

If you’re a parent – you know that parenting is hard work. Oh, it’s so much fun at first. The smiles – the clothes - the compliments from others. They go a long way. But it’s not long until you realize you’ve signed up for a lengthy process and plenty of people telling you just exactly what to do.

How do you know that your children will be respectful – be positive – be successful? How do you know they will come to love the Lord?

Here’s a little secret from the Bible that goes a long way in encouraging us. It’s found in the instructions given to the Jews in the Old Testament. They are told, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”

This all comes before they are told to teach their children. They are to love the Lord before they tell their children to love the Lord. Truth is – we teach more by modeling desired behavior than by any other way.
