Which One Wins?

Emotion versus reason. Which one wins?

Emotion is a hunch based partly on possibility – mostly on hope. In games it can be exciting. But in life it can be deadly.

There is a story in the Bible of a cargo ship bound for Rome with 276 passengers including a prisoner by the name of Paul. The ship had to cross the treacherous Mediterranean Sea. The captain and the owner of the ship wondered when they should leave – because winter was coming on – and storms would certainly come. Encouraged by a nice southerly breeze, they set sail even though Paul warned them of impending danger. After all, what does a prisoner know – even if he is an apostle? The Bible says a violent storm did come and the ship eventually crashed on the shore of an island. Thankfully - everyone survived. A steep price to pay for a hunch. It could have been worse.

Let’s not risk our eternal life on a hunch.
