The autumn weather is here - and doesn’t it feel great? The cool mornings are followed by warm afternoons which calls for us to prepare for whatever happens during the day. This is a good indicator of what we are doing in life. We are trying our best to prepare for whatever comes our way.

We have been involved with Shared Blessings for many years. You may not know the history. We were exploring ways to help those in the city—perhaps even supplying meals as they are needed.

The Area-Wide “Our Journey of Faith” was outstanding. I don’t know as if we’ve had a better time of coming together. The singing and the sermons were ‘spot on’ as to the fact that we are all leaning on the guidance of God our Father for the way in which we live and serve. Thanks to all who ‘pitch in’ to make sure that everything goes as planned.

Our “Journey of Faith” service is tonight. This is our semi-annual service in which every church is invited to our building for a worship service and time of fellowship. I hope you will make plans to be here tonight at 5:00 pm.

It was good for us all to gather on Sunday and Wednesday. That is a tremendous time of ‘family time’ where we come to worship, study and affirm our common allegiance to our Lord and His body, the church.

What a week! It began with wonderful worship services on Sunday, which included a report from Brandon Price on the work at the Ukrainian Bible Institute. This update was very helpful in understanding the challenges of ministry at this particular point in history. We truly have a big responsibility at Germantown, supporting key mission points abroad and one domestic effort.

I am writing this article on a dark day for so many of us. Just to say “Nine-eleven” is to say it all. So many deaths. So many dedicated heroes. So many frightened people. So many memories. Shock. Anger. Sadness. Grief. Simply put, “Indescribable.”

Another service project is upon us this weekend. You may notice that there are busses running a ‘shuttle’ from the Germantown Festival to our parking lot on Saturday and Sunday.
